Visualization and Simulation-based Support for Engine Development
Overview
We support the development of high-performance gas engines for cogeneration systems and GHPs. We use simulation technology to predict in-cylinder gas mixture and flow and also use visualization technology to make the condition inside the engine cylinder visible and observe and analyze combustion for early product development.
Features
A quartz glass observation window is provided on the top of the piston to enable the combustion state of the engine to be observed. The inside of the cylinder reflected on a mirror is visualized with a high-speed video camera. Based on the measured combustion state in the visualized engine and the in-cylinder mixture and flow obtained by simulation, we propose and verify combustion improvement ideas to help improve the performance of gas engines.
Future Plans
There is a demand for higher-performance gas engines to reduce global environmental impacts and help customers achieve a comfortable lifestyle. We support commercialization development intended to continuously provide competitive products through technology development.
