Daigas Group Biodiversity Policy

Statement

Acknowledging the potential impact of our business on biodiversity both domestically and globally, we must work to protect natural capital, including biological, water, and forest resources, while sustainably utilizing them. It is crucial for us to implement environmental management across the Group with a high level of awareness of the relevance of biodiversity to climate change and resource recycling. As a declaration of our commitment to a society in harmony with nature where humans and nature coexist in a mutually beneficial way for many years, we hereby establish the Daigas Group Biodiversity Policy.
We intend to comply with international agreements and aim to achieve the conservation and restoration of biodiversity in collaboration with various stakeholders through the following five activities:

1.Understanding our dependence and impact on biodiversity, as well as the risks and opportunities that come with them:
Recognizing that our business activities benefit from biodiversity and have the potential to impact ecosystems, we strive to understand our dependence and impact on biodiversity across the value chain, as well as the risks and opportunities that come with them.

2.Avoiding or minimizing our impact on biodiversity:
We operate our business in a biodiversity-friendly manner to avoid or minimize our impact on biodiversity. We strive to ensure that our purchasing takes into account the impact on biodiversity across the supply chain.

3.Contributing to biodiversity through our business activities:
We develop products, services, and technologies that reduce the burden on biodiversity. We aim to contribute to biodiversity by promoting greening, protecting indigenous species, and prioritizing the increase of indigenous species at our business sites.

4.Engaging and collaborating with diverse stakeholders:
We intend to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders to raise biodiversity awareness throughout society, considering regional features from a broad and global perspective. We also continue disclosing information to promote a better understanding of our biodiversity initiatives among the public.

5.Raising awareness and pursuing initiatives:
We aim to enhance the awareness of biodiversity and natural capital among all Group company officers and employees through education and enlightenment. We also pursue initiatives to conserve and restore biodiversity.
